Venue
Yoga House Wales is an established yoga studio and yoga retreat centre, and home to Yoga Teacher and Kirtan Leader, Linda Premanandhi. Set in the tiny seaside village of Tresaith, on the stunning coastline of West Wales, this charming home is just a stone's throw away from the beach, coastal path, and waterfall. The Grade II listed Georgian house is nestled within secluded woodlands, meaning you really are in the heart of nature.
Rooms are stylish and comfortable, modern bathrooms allow natural light in through glass ceilings. The kitchen diner is large, bright and homely and there’s a couple of lounge areas to relax and chat, with plenty of yoga books to borrow. There are many walks off the grounds through woodland, and the beach is a short walk down our drive to the village steps. You will be welcomed as one of the family.

Yoga
Whether you have no current yoga practice, or regularly enjoy a strong, dynamic Vinyasa flow, we dare you to go slower and deeper on this retreat, creating stability and resilience of mind and body. Challenging the myth that ‘slow’ means ‘of less value’, we will allow time and space for the holistic healing power of yoga to work its magic, helping us to reset and soothe our nervous systems.
Mornings will include slow hatha flow to open the physical and subtle body; pranayama — specific breath practices to effectively open the lungs and raise energy; guided meditation to calm the mind and draw the awareness inward.
Early evenings will offer the beautiful practice of yin yoga with deep, slow, longer-held stretches. We will soften and release muscular tension, surrendering into transformation.
Evenings will end with yoga nidra (yogic sleep), a totally guided meditation. It is wonderfully relaxing and all you have to do is lie down! A great way to completely let go and prepare for a great night’s sleep.
This retreat is suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced yogis. We will focus on comfort and accessibility for all, using props and equipment wherever necessary.
There will be a maximum of 10 guests on this retreat, so there will be ample opportunity for personal attention.

Kirtan, Mantra Therapy and Chanting
Kirtan is a call and response musical meditation that takes only minutes to learn, and makes you feel good just as fast. The practice goes back thousands of years and can be practiced by anyone. You do not need to be a good singer, a practitioner of yoga, or a follower of any religion or set of beliefs to experience the power of chanting and kirtan. An open mind and your voice are all that is required. Combining music, mantra meditation. kirtan offers a rich, immersive experience that has the power to change your world.
There will be two sessions of devotional chanting during the retreat when you will be able to experience the wonderful therapeutic and uplifting benefits of chanting mantra for yourself. Think of it as mantra therapy. After a short introduction to the world of Bhakti yoga and kirtan, we will learn two or three traditional chants together, ending with a beautiful chanting circle to close the retreat on Sunday.

Schedule
Building nervous system resilience requires a kind and patient approach to yoga practice. The focus for this weekend is to really slow down and make space to heal and replenish. You will be sincerely encouraged to work within your own limits, at your own pace, whatever that might be on the day in question. There are so many demands on our nervous systems these days, constantly at the beck and call of the digital world, always bombarded by stimuli. No small wonder we feel frazzled and suffer from nervous exhaustion.
We may not even realise how worn out we really are until we stop. Take the opportunity to nap, relax, walk barefoot on the beach, read a book. None of our offerings are compulsory – feel free to choose your own practices.
We’ll send you the full schedule when you make your booking.
