Suitable if you are completely new to yoga or have been practising previously and want to progress at a steady pace. We will concentrate on building essential strength to achieve inner stillness and balance.

 

Our theme for the course is the chakra system, using our physical work to help shift energy and remove blockages from our root chakra up to our crown. We will also practice pranayama (breath-work) and guided meditation to support the different aspects of both the physical and subtle body.

Gentle

Hatha Yoga

A gentle approach to classical hatha yoga. Particularly suitable for those who may need to accommodate injuries or limitations of some kind. Will build strength and confidence slowly enabling stiffness to melt away into a more open, spacious body. Pranayama (breathwork), meditation and relaxation also taught in this class.

We will be practising yoga on the glorious sands of Dolwen Beach in Aberporth again this year. Join us for a class in classical yoga, breath and meditation, replacing our usual Tuesday evening class at the Yoga House at Glandŵr.

 

The only weather to stop us will be… rain.

 

Bring a mat, warm clothing/fleece blanket for relaxation.

 

The tradition with beach yoga is for you to, decide how much you want to pay. Bring your cash with you (a kind suggestion of at least £2) to put in the collection box.

Practice loving compassion for yourself and your baby. Pregnancy yoga is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your growing baby. A gentle practice specifically designed to keep your changing body strong and supple, in preparation for birth. Breath work will teach you how to keep calm and help progress the birthing process smoothly.

This is a lovely class for those who want to explore a deeper expression of their practice with a little more focus on pranayama (breathwork), mindfulness, guided meditation, yoga nidra (yogic sleep) as well as hatha (physical) yoga.

 

These classes focus on both reviving and restoring. Quality rest and relaxation are so undervalued in our culture, but this class offers you the benefits of getting the body moving with flowing hatha yoga sequences and the nourishing effects of the longer held restorative postures to soothe the soul and still the mind. Perfect for students who may suffer with a busy mind, anxiety or depression.

Pregnancy Workshop

In this workshop designed for couples, you and your partner will work together to learn essential relaxation, breathing and massage practices, as well as movements and positions for use in pregnancy and labour. Working in pairs, you’ll be guided through the gentle yoga postures which can be beneficial during pregnancy, which can also help deepen the bond and understanding between you and your partner.

Set a little time aside to nurture your body and mind in this Yin and Yoga Nidra workshop. We will stretch, breathe and soften into awareness and stillness. Focussing on soothing and grounding postures to help turn off the overdrive switch. The long, supported holds in Yin yoga help the body and mind to relax – releasing tension mentally, emotionally and physically.

 

Yin yoga’s stretches and holds create a gentle traction and compression that works on the fascia, the body’s ‘stocking’ helping it to flush out toxins and lubricate joints while releasing tension from the surrounding connective tissues. Yin is a very special yoga practice, beneficial for all levels of practice and physical ability. It is a great support for any other more dynamic yoga, or physical activities, allowing a balanced approach to wellbeing.

 

Following the grounding practice, and breath work, we'll release and let go with a guided Yoga Nidra, a state of conscious deep sleep. Yoga Nidra brings an incredible inner quietness and clarity. It is one of the deepest of all meditations, reaching deep relaxation while maintaining present moment awareness through many levels of mental process to a state of supreme stillness and insight.

 

This workshop is open to all levels. Please wear comfortable clothes and you are welcome to bring additional blankets and warm clothing for the yoga nidra. We’ll finish the workshop with a soothing cup of chai, ready to face the week ahead. Book now as space is limited.
